General Information
Preparing for Mediation
What to Bring
Important documents related to your case that may include:
Financial Records: Pay stubs, W2s, tax returns, bank statements, retirement account statements, and debt statements.
Asset Information: Appraisals for your home or vehicles, and a list of all personal property.
Case Documents: Contracts, court documents, and any evidence or proof you have.
Mediation format:
Generally Separate: We will meet in separate rooms (either on Zoom or in-person) unless everyone involved (including the mediator) agrees to meet together.
You can relax! The process is less stressful than you might think.
Support Person: You may bring one support person with you (often your attorney).
Length of Mediation Sessions:
It is up to you.
The mediator will set aside up to 8 hours for your case for the first day.
Most mediation sessions run between 3 and 8 hours, so be sure and plan your day without other conflicts. Follow up sessions can be made as needed.
Important: If you plan to have a support person or any other person present (in your room or within hearing/view of the Zoom call), you must email their name and email address to the mediator beforehand. That person will need to sign the Agreement to Mediate before they can attend.
